Find answers to common questions about our data consultancy services and how we can support your business effectively.

Do I have to proceed after the introductory meeting?

We hope you will proceed of course, but there is no obligation to make a commitment after the initial meeting.

In our experience, clients arrange the introduction because they feel there is an issue they need help with.

For that reason, it is our general recommendation that clients proceed with the "getting to know" you session, which is a low-cost way to enable us to dig into the details and provide a more accurate assessment of the current setup and recommendations about the way forward.

Can Clarity provide assistance regardless of the platform?

The field of data and analytics is vast and expanding, the range of business domains is broad and for your particular infrastructure setup it is possible we may not have the requisite expertise.

Some "old gold" advice is platform-agnostic and will serve you well irrespective. For example, general approaches to modelling, storing, querying or visualising data.

However, if we don't feel we can make a material difference, we will be clear about this at the earliest opportunity.

What topics do the technical training cover?

Whilst we have broad expertise and experience, we offer specific training in the following tools:

  • SQL

  • Power Query

  • Power BI / DAX

  • Excel (in particular, new features like Dynamic Arrays, LET/LAMBDA)

How do you ensure that data will remain confidential?

No data will leave the premises or be shared externally. Any work undertaken away from the premises will be anonymised or merely recreated using synthetic data to illustrate a particular solution/approach.

Can you assist with data migration and integration projects?

Yes, we would be happy to assist in the planning, execution and/or post-implementation review of these kind of projects.

What tools and technologies do you typically use?

The toolsets we typically like to work with are broadly part of the Microsoft stack; being SQL, Power Query, Power BI, and Excel. We also have good knowledge of Cloud Platforms, Analytics Engineering, Python, and how Machine Learning can help your business.

How do we agree what work is required and whether this has been fulfilled?

If you agree to proceed to the "do the work" phase, we will prepare a contract which will stipulate, amongst other things, the following:

  • Expected time required, expressed in terms of whole days, and the frequency of contact

  • Daily rate applicable

  • A clearly defined "delivery" i.e. x number of days of training or support, which we are careful to distinguish from an "outcome". Of course, we undertake the work with the intent to improve business performance through the improvements to data and insights, but we cannot guarantee this outcome

  • Notice periods applicable
